Schaumburg Police Investigate Single Case Of Tainted Dog Treats

Schaumburg police received a report on the afternoon of Monday tainted dog treats discovered in a their yard near Stevens Dr and Whitman Dr Schaumburg, IL. The Schaumburg Police Department is investigating a single complaint that tainted
dog treats were found in the backyard of a residence on the 0-99 block of Stevens Drive in Schaumburg. On Monday afternoon (November 10) a resident reported that earlier in the day their dog was in the backyard of their residence. They observed their dog eating a dog treat on the ground that they had not given the dog.

The resident observed several of these treats in their yard and upon closer examination saw an unknown foreign substance in the treat.

The dog did develop some intestinal discomfort and is being treated by a Veterinarian.

According to Schaumburg police, this appears to be an isolated incident. The Schaumburg Police Department has received no other reports of tainted dog treats.

Schaumburg police urges pet owners to observe their dogs during walks or while they're playing in the yard to prevent them
from eating something found on the ground.
