Crash With Injuries At Main Street (Route 83) And Highland Street, Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:13 PM Tuesday to a report of crash with injuries at Main Street and Highland Street Mount Prospect, IL. Mount Prospect's fire chief John Malcolm was "Johnny on the Spot" Tuesday when he was right at the scene when a crash occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Highland Street.

A sedan and a sports compact car collided, and a third SUV was also involved in the crash. Fire Chief John Malcom's fire department SUV was also possibly hit by debris or grazed by a vehicle during the crash.

Mount Prospect Fire Department Ambulance 13 and Tower Ladder 13 responded immediately after Chief Malcolm reported the crash. He then proceeded to check on the well-being of all involved in the crash.

The sedan and the sports compact car received moderate to severe front-end damage. An SUV that was southbound on Main Street about 40 yards from the main crash had lesser damage. The chief's SUV may have received a scuff mark on the front-right fender bumper area -- either from flying debris or from being grazed by a vehicle.

The extent of any injuries was unknown.
