Dryer Fire Quickly Extinguished In Apartment Basement On Circle Hill Drive, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:48 PM Wednesday to a report of a fire in an apartment basement 42.113513,-87.976951 (410 Circle Hill Drive Arlington Heights, IL). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report from police officers on the scene that there was a confirmed fire with the fire extending.

Arlington Heights upgraded the fire call to a working fire response which brought Palatine firefighters to the scene and Prospect Heights firefighters to stand by at an Arlington Heights fire station.

Firefighters pulled two lines to the apartment building and searched the first and second floor for residents that may have needed help with evacuation.

The crew from Arlington Heights Fire Department Engine 4 reported the fire was a dryer fire and was extinguished by 7:28 p.m.

Buffalo Grove firefighters also assisted Arlington Heights firefighters at the scene.

A water main also broke in the 400 block of East Valley Lane early in firefighting operations, Heavy water flow, covered the street in freezing temperatures -- flowing westbound toward the corner of Valley Lane and Circle Hill Drive. The water main break apparently did not affect firefighting operations.
