Woman In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car Near Pioneer Park At Grove St And Kaspar Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:55 AM Monday to a report of a woman hit by a car at 500 South Fernandez Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. On Monday, March 9, 2015, at approximately 6:55 AM, officers from the Arlington Heights Police
Department discovered traffic incident involving a pedestrian, was located near the intersection of Grove Street and Kaspar Avenue and Pioneer Park in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

The collision involved a single vehicle and pedestrian. The vehicle, a 2012 Volkswagen GTI, was driven by a 16-year-old male (the lone occupant of the vehicle) from Arlington Heights. The vehicle was westbound on Grove Street approaching the intersection with Kaspar Avenue. The pedestrian, a 58-year-old female from Arlington Heights, was crossing Grove Street southbound, also
near the intersection with Kaspar Avenue. The vehicle struck the pedestrian.

As a result of the incident, the pedestrian sustained critical injuries. The pedestrian was transported to Lutheran General Hospital, in Park Ridge, Illinois by the Arlington Heights Fire Department.

As of Monday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m., the pedestrian was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured.
Traffic Crash Reconstructionists of Arlington Heights Police Department are continuing the
investigation into the crash. Initial investigative efforts did not reveal any suspicion of intoxication or impairment on the part of the driver.
