Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:30 AM Thursday to a report of a house fire at 441 East Baldwin Road Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a report of a fire in a chimney at a single family home. The first Palatine Fire Department crews arrived on the scene at 9:35 p.m. and reported smoke coming from the chimney and roof area. No residents or firefighters were injured in the fire. Damage estimates were not available at the time of the release, and the fire remains under investigation by Palatine Fire Department investigators.

The residents were home at the time of the incident and were in the process of moving.
The fire was fought by 18 firefighters, staffing two engines, two ladder trucks, one rescue squad and two ambulances which responded to the scene along with three command officers and two Fire Investigators. Palatine Police officers assisted at the scene with traffic and crowd control.

The Palatine Fire Department reminds everyone to immediately call 911 if they see smoke or suspect there is a fire. Have an escape plan, practice it, and be prepared to use it in the event of any fire.
