Crash Injures 6 on Southbound Route 53 at Palatine Road, Palatine

Illinois State police Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:34 AM Saturday to a report of a crash with injuries Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a crash with injuries was located on southbound Route 53, just north of Palatine Road.

Firefighter/paramedics arrived to find the crash on southbound Route 53 near the entrance ramp from westbound Palatine Road to southbound Route 53.

Four total ambulances responded to the scene, transporting six patients to area hospitals.

The extent of injuries was not known. The crash involved a large SUV and a sedan in an area that involves a tight cloverleaf curve with a difficult merge.

Southbound Route 53 was backed up to about Rand Road during the crash rescue and cleanup operations.
