Extrication Crash with Injuries at Oakton Community College at Golf Rd and College Drive, Des Plaines

Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:45 PM Monday to a report of crash with injuries at Oakton Community College at Golf Road and College Drive Des Plaines , IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that three people were unconscious in one of the vehicles, and that another person was down on the ground outside any vehicle.

Eight ambulances total responded to the scene after Des Plaines called for a mutual aid EMS Box Alarm at about 4:50 p.m.

At least 12 firefighter/paramedics were working in the extrication zone to rescue victims trapped in a black vehicle. All patients were extricated by 5:11 p.m.

Patients from the crash were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital and possibly Northwest Community Hospital.

The EMS Box Alarm was struck out at 5:25 p.m. and extra ambulances were released shortly after 5:25 p.m.

The total number of patients transported was not available at the time of this report.

The college driveway intersection with Golf Road is located on the south side of the college campus.
