Another Power Line Down on Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights -- This Time at Euclid Ave and Wilshire

Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:50 PM Tuesday to a report of a tree on fire close to a house on Wilshire Lane near Euclid Ave and Wilshire Lane Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics also received a report that a power line was arcing near Euclid Avenue and Wilshire Lane.

Firefighters on the scene reported a short between the primary and secondary power line.

The line then burned through and caused an electric arcing explosion. After 9:00 p.m. at least one power line was down on the ground. Engine 2's crew reported a line down from pole-to-pole.

The storm tonight possibly worsened damage that occurred yesterday.

Overnight last night, ComEd worked through the night to make major repairs to power lines that were damaged in severe weather that occurred about 4:15 p.m. Monday. Much of the day yesterday afternoon, and overnight Monday to Tuesday Euclid Avenue was closed between Waterman Avenue and Rand Road.

At about 9:30 p.m., ComEd reported about 480 customers were without power in neighborhoods between Northwest Highway and Rand Road near Wilshire Lane and Euclid Avenue.
