Four Injured at Apartment Fire at 21 Kristin Place on Kristin Drive Near Roselle Rd, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:52 PM Sunday to and activated fire alarm that was discovered to be an actual fire at 21 Kristin Place, 21 Kristin Drive Schaumburg, IL. Upon arrival, police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that there was smoke on the fourth floor. Firefighters on arrival by 4:55 p.m. reported no smoke showing from outside the building, but reported partial evacuation of residents from the high-rise apartment building.


Firefighters from Schaumburg Engine 54 reported water flowing down the stairs and smoke on the fourth floor. They discovered an injured person and then reported they found a total of four people injured. Firefighters upgraded the the automatic fire alarm response to a Confirmed Fire Response about 4:59 p.m. and then a Working Fire Response when injured people and smoke were discovered.

The fire was apparently contained by the building's sprinkler system in or near Apartment 405.

At least three Schaumburg Fire Department ambulances responded to the scene.

Firefighters immediately went to work to protect apartment(s) below the apartment fire unit, and then worked with electric fans to clear smoke from the building. Smoke conditions may have been confined to the fourth floor.

Firefighters had control of the elevators during firefighting operations.
