Sporadic Power Outages: Line "Pop" and Tree Fire at Park St and Forrest Ave, 9-1-1 Center on Backup Power, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:03 AM Friday to a report of a power line problem and a tree fire Park Street and Forrest Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a resident heard a line pop and then saw a tree on fire. The flames were reported "out" by the time the caller reported the problem on 9-1-1.

Northwest Central Dispatch System 911 Center reported about 8:26 a.m. that an activated fire alarm may have been caused by a power outage, and that the center may have been operating on their generator.

Mount Prospect Engine 14's crew also reported that Comcast lost power at their facility at 1201 Feehanville Drive. They had responded to a temporary activated fire alarm at about 8:19 a.m.
