Thousands of People without Power in Arlington Heights, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadow -- Mostly Communities North of I-55

Heavy snow on tree branches continued to cause problems in the northwest suburbs. Thousands of ComEd customers are experiencing power outage across Chicagoland. Most of the power outages are north of I-55.

Palatine police and firefighters responded to a tree branch down on a power line at 35 South Bothwell. The power line was down across the street, and ComEd was called to the scene.

About 10:45 a.m. Rolling Meadows firefighters responded to the area of Sigwalt Street and Rohlwing Road for downed power lines.

About 11:00 a.m. Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics were called for an elevator rescue at the parking garage at 22 South Vail Avenue. The elevator was stalled because of a power failure.

About 12:04 pm Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics were call for a power line down across Hawthorne Street.

Groups of hundreds of ComEd customers were without in or near the following communities.

About 944 ComEd customers were without power in Arlington Heights

About 687 ComEd customers were without power in Rolling Meadows

About 2198 ComEd customers were without power in Prospect Heights.

About 208 ComEd customers were without power in Palatine.

About 271 ComEd customers were without power near Buffalo Grove and Wheeling.

About 1700 ComEd customers were without power in Round Lake.

About 1061 ComEd customers were without power in

About 942 ComEd customers were without power in Lake Bluff.

About 992 ComEd customers were without power northeast of Venetian Village.

Also, hundreds of other groups of less than 100 customers are with out power across Chicagoland.
