DUI Arrest After Driver Tries to Squeeze Through Road Block for Shooting Investigation at Golf Rd and New Wilke Rd Sunday, Rolling Meadows

Arlington Heights police arrested a suspected DUI driver about 3:30 AM Sunday at New Wilke Road and Golf Road Rolling Meadows, IL. Arlington Heights police were blocking westbound Golf Road at New Wilke Road when a driver attempted to driver his Toyota Corolla between two police cars.

A field sobriety test was administered near the Portillo's parking lot, and the driver was arrested suspected of DUI.

Police transported the driver in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver's Toyota Corolla was towed to a police holding area.

Police were blocking westbound Golf Road while Rolling Meadows police were working to collect evidence for a shooting that occurred on Golf Road near Route 53. One young female adult was hit by a bullet in the leg, and was transported Lutheran General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police were searching for weapons and bullet casings.
