Fire in Apartment on Dryden Pl Just North of Kensington Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:41 AM Sunday to an apartment fire at 27 North Dryden Place Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that fire was showing from the roof. The fire was actually coming from the windows, and did not breach the roof.

Firefighter/paramedics worked to rescue and evacuate residents from all three floors. Firefighters also rescued at least one person with a disability. The fire was extinguished by about 6:10 a.m.

Firefighters did not have to open the roof for ventilation, and appeared to contain the fire to one unit.

One man was transferred to an ambulance for assessment, but no patients were transported as of 6:30 a.m.

All residents on the fifth floor where there are four or five apartment units were possibly displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross was called to the scene for assistance for the residents.
