Fire at Terrace Square Condominiums on Dee Rd Near Golf Road, Niles
Niles police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:33 AM Friday to a condominium fire at Terrace Square Condominiums, 9701 Dee Rd Niles, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received an activated fire alarm, and immediately received calls of a fire on the fifth floor. A caller also reported seeing smoke on the east side of the building.
The Niles Fire Department Battalion Chief confirmed a fire upon arrival and ordered a working fire response.
Firefighters worked to rescue a few residents from the fifth floor, who were reported trapped in their condo units because of smoke.
A MABAS Box Alarm was requested for extra firefighters, and EMS Box Alarm was requested for extra ambulances for residents being evacuated from the condominium building.
At least one patient was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by about 9:36 a.m.
