Attempted Child Abduction Reported on Holly Lane South of Central Rd, Unincorporated Des Plaines

Cook County Sheriff's police responded about 9:00 a.m. Monday to a report of attempted child abduction on Holly Lane between Linda Lane and Central Road just east of I-294.

A 10-year-old boy was walking along Holly Lane when the man approached him with a knife and said "come here." The boy escaped uninjured, and ran home, according to Cook County Sheriff's police.

Police issued a sketch of the armed man after they received the report that the offender attempted to abduct the boy in an apartment complex in unincorporated Des Plaines.

The offfender is described as Middle Eastern or black, in his 40s with dark brown eyes, black hair, dark brown complexion, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall and approximately 190 to 210 pounds. He was described as having a birthmark or a blemish above his eyebrow. He wore a plaid Kangol type hat and a tan trench coat.
