Apartment Fire on Pomeroon St Near US 34 (Ogden Ave) Naperville

Naperville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:56 PM Sunday to a report of crash with injuries at 815 Pomeroon St Naperville, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that residents smelled smoke in an apartment building.

The first firefighting crew inside the building reported they noticed the odor and reported a "slight haze" in the building, but no visible fire.

A small fire was discovered in the space between two apartment on the second and third floors.

Firefighters pulled the ceiling on the second floor and pulled up flooring on the third floor of the respective apartments.

The fire was extinguished by about 2:10 p.m.

A gas line was damaged between two apartment units.

No other fire damage was reported to other apartments.

No injuries were reported but residents to all 20 apartments were displaced because the utilities had to be shut off.


Firefighters were on the scene about 223 minutes.
