Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:59 PM Sunday to a report of a fire on the roof of a commercial building, 25 East University Drive Arlington Heights, Il . Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that workers on the roof of a commercial building called in a report of a roof fire.

There was a report of smoke showing from the roof of a commercial building at Planned Plumbing, Inc.

Workers tarring the roof reported they were attempting to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher.

Arlington Heights Fire Chief 100 on arrival reported light smoke showing from the roof with workers on the roof -- out investigating.

Police on scene reported workers were tarring the roof.

Engine 4's crew reported workers said they had a fire.

Engine 4's crew reported smoke inside the building with some active fire in the void space under the roof.

Buffalo Grove Tower Ladder 25's crew raised their main ladder to the roof at the A-B corner.

Tower Ladder 25's crew opened up a small roof area, and reported the area was cooling off after opening.

Firefighters inspecting the roof reported no extension beyond the tuckpoint.

Fire was reported out by 2:14 p.m.

Extra fire companies were released by 2:17 pm.

The fire ignited under fairly high wind conditions 17-23 MPH and Gusts 26-32 MPH from 1:51 p.m. to 2:51 p.m.
