Townhouse/Apartment Fire on Newport Harbor Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:56 AM Sunday to a report of a townhouse fire with two people trapped at 1015 Newport Harbor Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that two adults were trapped in a two-story townhouse.

There was a report of an adult female trapped on the balcony on the second floor.

Schaumburg's Battalion Chief 5 requested a second truck for rescue after hearing there were two people trapped. Truck 52's crew was assigned.

Battalion Chief 5 on arrival by 12:00 p.m.reported a two-story multi-family townhouse type building with fire and heavy smoke showing from the attic area.

The first person was rescued by 12:04 p.m.

A second person was rescued by 12:12 p.m. and firefighters were working on extinguishing the fire.
