Small Fire In A Newstand at The Ogilvie Transportation, Chicago

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:49 PM Sunday to a report of a fire at the Ogilvie Transportation Center 500 West Madison Street Chicago, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a fire in the high-rise building the Chicago Metra train station.

The first Chicago fire crew on arrival reported nothing showing from the 43-story commercial high-rise, fire-resistive.

BC3 reports smoke inside and requests a Still and Box and EMS Plan 1 at the scene.

Fire command reported a small fire in a newsstand extinguished by the sprinkler system.

The fire was declared out with a conventional lead out, and light smoke conditions in the building.

Firefighters were immediately ventilating with three power fans and clearing smoke from the interior building and train tunnel.

Firefighters were also searching the facility for an possible victims. There was no report of any fire or smoke victims as of 9:22 p.m.
