Townhouse Fire on Le Parc Circle Kills 2 Dogs, Buffalo Grove
Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:29 PM Tuesday Report of a smartphone activation showing a thermostat reading of 95 degrees and a smoke detector was activated. The homeowner drove home and discovered smoke inside the townhouse. 685 Le Parc Circle Buffalo Grove, Il. Battalion Chief 4 on arrival reported visible smoke coming from the roof by 5:34 p.m. The fire department response was immediately upgraded to a working fire response. Thick brownish-black smoke was pushing out of the roof gable vents.
A MABAS Box Alarm was requested by 6:02 p.m.
A Barrington Countryside ambulance (A38) was moved up from Change of Quarters to the scene at 6:13 p.m.
An ambulance was requested from Lake Villa about 6:36 p.m.
ComEd was on scene by 6:36 p.m.
The fire was report out at 6:39 p.m. Companies working salvage and overhaul by 6:40 p.m.
Firefighter transported to Northwest Community Hospital -- treated and released.
An ambulance was requested from Winnetka-Kenilworth by 6:42 p.m. but was returned.
The MABAS Box Alarm was struck out by 6:53 p.m. Firefighters on scene were continuing to work on overhaul and salvage.
