Pedestrian Identity Unknown After Fatal Metra Incident at Arlington Heights Rd and Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:45 PM Friday to a Metra Train vs pedestrian incident at Northwest Highway and Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a person with long hair was hit by a Metra train.

Arlington Heights Police say that on Friday, July 21, 2017 at approximately 7:45 a.m. the Arlington Heights Police and Fire Department responded to Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway for a report of a pedestrian struck by a Metra Commuter Train. Upon arrival, paramedics located an unidentified female victim who did not survive the collision.

At approximately 7:45am an eastbound METRA commuter train pulled away from the Arlington Heights Downtown train depot. All grade crossing gates were deployed and functioning properly. As the commuter train was crossing Arlington Heights Road the female pedestrian entered the path of the train and was subsequently struck.

The unidentified victim is described as a Female Hispanic, 20-40 years old, black curly hair, wearing a peach shirt, black pants and grey flip-flops.
