Amtrak Train Fire at Milwaukee Avenue and Kilbourn Chicago, Ilchicago

CHICAGO police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:07 PM Tuesday to a report of an Amtrak passenger train fire at Milwaukee Avenue and Kilbourn Chicago, Ilchicago, Il. Battalion Chief 7 on scene reports a conductor states that the fire has been extinguished.

Deputy District Chief 222 reports that the fire is out, and was caused by a battery. The train will be stalled with 40 passengers on board.

Initially, plans were made for another train to be sent to transfer passengers to the other train. Next plan possibly involves another train engine arriving to move the train.

Chicago Fire Department reports there were no injuries.
