Chimney Fire on East Euclid Ave Near Beverly Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:49 PM Wednesday to a report of smoke coming from a chimney after the fire was put out., 820 East Euclid Avenue Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of smoke coming from a chimney after the fire was put out.

Crew on arrival reports nothing showing.

E2 crew reports a fireplace at the back of the house with light smoke coming around the chimney -- no visible fire. Companies checking for extension.

Firefighters got on the roof and inspected the chimney and removed some fascia. A crew inside the kitchen also pulled away an interior wall which vented smoke in the kitchen.

Initially firefighters extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, but eventually soaked the fire after pulling away the wall.

The fire response was elevated to a working fire response at about 12:19 a.m.

Mutual aid companies were released about 12:53 p.m.

Nicor and the Village of Arlington Heights Building Department were also called to the scene.
