House Fire on West Van Buren St Near Cicero Ave, Chicago
Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that
Report of a house fire with an injured victim and an exposure building.
Engine 113's crew on arrival reported smoke showing at 11:43 a.m.
Battalion Chief 18 reported a residential frame, 25x50, two lines led out, primary search underway with a report of a person possibly in the basement by 11:46 a.m.
An ambulance was assigned to Side A by 11:48 a.m. but the assignment was updated to Side C in the alley by 11:49 a.m.
Battalion Chief 18 reported there was rescue of one individual by 11:49 a.m.
Battalion Chief 18 also reported firefighters had one line on the fire, a ground ladder up at the front of the building by 11:49 a.m.
A Still and Box was requested at 11:54 a.m. as fire was apparently affecting an exposure building.
District Chief 2-1-24 reported four lines on the fire with a large amount of fire knocked down and all companies working at 12:04 p.m.
The Command Van, #271, reported the van was on scene at Van Buren and Cicero ... CFD Main says he didn't tell him his location when Deputy District Chief 2-2-4 asked where the command van was located. Command Van 2-7-1 repeated the location of the van.
A 2-11 ALARM was requested at 12:11 PM on orders of Battalion Chief 18, but immediately following a 2-11, MAYDAY, and an EMS Plan 1 was order for a missing firefighter.
The missing firefighter was found by 12:18 p.m. The firefighter had been out of reach of communications for a few moments, according to CFDMedia.
3 lines on the fire, 1 master stream and another exposure to the west -- a 2-story residential at 12:34 p.m.
A building to the west was also affected by the fire.
One firefighter suffered minor burns and was transported to Stroger Hospital, according to Chicago Fire Media said. Two other firefighters were transported to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park
A CFDMedia tweet reported the firefighters are in "good shape" and expected to be treated and released. At least one of the firefighters suffered minor burns.
