Arlington Heights Police Spot Stolen Auto with Chase Vehicles, Driver of Stolen Auto Captured on Chicago's South Side
Arlington Heights police responded about 1:15 AM Monday to the sighting of a stolen vehicle Arlington Heights Road and Interstate 90 Arlington Heights, IL. An Arlington Heights police officer spotted a stolen automobile being driven with two other chase vehicles on the south side of Arlington Heights Sunday early Monday morning. Police responded to the sighting of a stolen vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the drivers of all three vehicles fled the police and entered eastbound Interstate 90 at Arlington Heights Road.
The drivers fled in a red Cadillac, a black Honda 4-door, and a dark Toyota 4-door. The red Cadillac was reported stolen out of Addison.
Another police agency and the Illinois State Police spotted the three vehicles on I-94 near Tower Road in Lake County. The three vehicles sped away again, but spotted again on the spur in Northbrook and headed southbound on the Edens Expressway. They were spotted intermittently on the southbound Edens Expressway.
The three vehicles continued southeast at high speed on the Kennedy Expressway, and continued south on the Dan Ryan. The three drivers of the three vehicles exited at 55th Street, where a short chase with Chicago Police Department began. The driver of the red Cadillac -- the stolen vehicle -- was captured at 63rd Street and Union Avenue at about 2:;15 a.m. The drivers of the other two vehicles split, and were able to Chicago evade and flee police.
Charges were pending early Monday morning for the driver of the stolen red Cadillac from Addison.
