Criminal Damage to Vehicle at Apartment Complex on Tonne Drive, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:55 AM Saturday of criminal damage to vehicle in the block of 2100 South Tonne Drive Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report of criminal damage to vehicle in progress by an unknown offender.

A third party witness reported that an unknown female offender was hitting a victim's vehicle with a baseball bat while it was parked legally in the apartment complex parking lot.

The offender was described as a female/black, approximately 30-35 years-old, heavyset, and wearing a patterned dress. The female was observed using the baseball bat to damage the windshield and hood of the vehicle.

The witnessed called the police but the offender fled just before police arrived on the scene. A search of the area was conducted but was unsuccessful.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted by police. The owner told police they were unsure about any suspects that would have wanted to damage their vehicle.

The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the police report.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2019 between 4:30 AM and 4:54 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:24 (hours: minutes).
