Arson: Portable Toilets Set on Fire at Carefree Park on South Belmont Ave Near White Oak St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:41 AM Sunday to a report of a fire involving a portable toilet at Carefree Park, 1231 S Belmont Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that an unknown offender or offenders committed arson by igniting a plastic porta john and caused it to become engulfed in flames. No persons were hurt as a result of the fire. The cost to repair the damage to the property was unknown at the time of the police report.

Fire involving portable toilets have been a recurring problem for about 6 months.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 1:40 AM.
