Person In The Water at Central Ave and North Branch Chicago River, Chicago

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:30 AM Sunday to a report of a person in the water after jumping from a bridge near 5952 North Central Ave Chicago, Il. Squad 2 divers were going in the water about 11:45 a.m. with SCUBA Dive Team Unit 6-8-7 about 7 minutes away. The Chicago Fire Department rescue helicopters were grounded due to weather.

The diving rescue scene is located at the North Branch of the Chicago River near Central Avenue, which is located near the Edgebrook Golf Course, Edgebrook Woods, and Thaddeus S. "Ted" Lechowicz Woods.

Central Avenue is blocked between Elston Avenue and Caldwell Avenue, just south of Devon Avenue.
