Police, Paramedics Respond to Scene of Alleged Domestic Battery, Arrest Suspect on Fernandez Ave North of White Oak St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:25 AM Tuesday to a report of a domestic battery at a home on South Fernandez Avenue near the intersection of Fernandez Avenue and Magnolia Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a domestic battery victim at a home on Fernandez Avenue, and that the victim of the domestic escaped in a vehicle down the street, closer to White Oak Street.

Police and firefighter/paramedics were told that the offender was still on scene, and multiple police units responded to the scene.

Firefighter/paramedics staged nearby until police secured the scene by about 7:30 a.m.

Police arrested John A. Matassa of the block of 1100 South Fernandez Avenue at 8:45 a.m. Matassa was charged with domestic battery after he was accused of committing a domestic battery at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Reminder: All suspects are considered until proven guilty in a court of law.
