Three Vehicles Burglarized in Stonegate Neighborhood on Carlyle Pl and on Stratford Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:16 AM Sunday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 400 South Carlyle Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered two of the victim's unlocked vehicles -- a Ford Flex and a 2013 black Toyota Tacoma pick-up. Reported taken was a wireless Bose speaker, valued at $200. The crime is reported to have occurred between Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 10:00 PM and Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 4:15 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 6:15 (hours: minutes). Unknown offender(s) entered another victim's unlocked blue Volkswagen Passat two blocks east of Carlyle Place in the 200 block of South Stratford Road. Antonio Nonato Velasquez Named As Offender in Murder/Suicide at Motel 6 on West Algonquin Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police have named Luis Antonio Nonato Velasquez, age 32, of Carol Stream as the offender in a murder/suicide discovered at the Motel 6, 441 West Algonquin Road last Thursday. Arlington Heights police previously released the identity of the victim as Cecilia Perez, age 41 years, of Aurora. The murder/suicide was discovered Thursday, July 9, 2015, at approximately 1:00 p.m. when Motel 6 staff found a large amount of blood on the floor. Hotel staff had entered the locked room and discovered the crime scene. Upon arrival, police officers discovered two deceased adults in the room. A female victim was discovered with severe lacerations to the neck. The Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) was called to the scene. Investigation determined the crime to be a murder/suicide with both parties dying as a result of stabs/lacerations caused by a knife. Severe Storm in Boone County and McHenry County Headed Toward Northwest Suburb in Cook County

A severe thunderstorm indicated by radar as a mesocyclone entered McHenry County about 9:00 p.m. The storm is indicated by radar to have a cloud top of 42,000 feet with a 30% chance of severe hail with maximum hail size of 1.25 inch. At 9:00 p.m. there is a 100 percent chance of hail. The ETA to Palatine Road in Arlington is calculated 70 miles away at 8:59 p.m. -- traveling at 39 knots, the storm would arrive in 69 minutes, or at 10:08 p.m. At 9:12 p.m. the storm decreased to 40,000 foot cloud tops. At 9:22 p.m. an adjacent cloud top to the west of the above storm mentioned is estimated at 42,000 feet with a 50 percent chance of severe hail with a maximum hail size of 1.75 inch. Motorcyclist Crashes into a Tree on Euclid Ave Between Hickory Ave and Beverly Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:14 PM Monday to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries at Euclid Avenue and Hickory Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a motorcyclist was injured after crashing into a tree. Apparently no other vehicle was directly involved in the crash. The motorcyclist hit a large tree, and suffered moderate blood loss on the roadway. The injuries suffered were apparently non-life-threatening. The male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. A one vehicle motorcycle crash occurred less than three weeks ago on Euclid Avenue just two streets west of today's crash scene. That motorcyclist spilled on his motorcycle and was wearing a helmet. Thunderstorms with lightning and high winds caused problems in the northwest suburbs about 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. Barricades were blown over at Hintz Road and Wolf Road in Wheeling. Over 500 Com Ed customers were without power between Dundee Road and Lake Cook Road west of Milwaukee Avenue. About 200 Com Ed customers were without power near Golf Road and Meacham Road in Schaumburg. About 200 Com Ed customers were without power near Signal Hill Road northeast of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. About 90 Com Ed customers were without power near Main Street in Fox River Grove. Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:42 AM Monday to a crash involving a Schaumburg fire department vehicle at Schaumburg Road and Meacham Road Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that Schaumburg Fire Department's Battalion Chief was rear-ended on eastbound Schaumburg Road just west of Meacham Road. Squad 55 was called to the scene to assist with blocking traffic.
