Armed Robbery at Chase Bank on North McHenry Road Near Lake Cook Road, Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove police responded about 5:02 PM Friday to an armed robbery at Chase Bank, 175 North McHenry Road Buffalo Grove, IL. Police received a report that the Chase Bank was robbed by a man Friday evening.

The suspect is described as a male/white, 6'0" medium build, short black hair, wearing sunglasses, black zip-up jacket, and a white shirt.

A handgun was implied and not displayed.

The bank robbery crime is reported to have occurred at 5:02 p.m.

Death Investigation for Man Found Unresponsive Near Evanger's Pet Foods, Wheeling Rd in Wheeling Foot Rules Out Foul Play

Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:51 AM Wednesday to a report of an unconscious man behind Evanger's 221 South Wheeling Road Wheeling, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics found a man that was unconscious and unresponsive behind Evanger's Pet Food.

Police identified the man as Jose Luis Reyes-Leon of Wheeling as he was treated and transported to Glenbrook Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Wednesday morning.

Police took precautions during an investigation to rule out foul play. Police from other agencies as part of the Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) were also on scene with the MCAT large van.

After the investigation Wednesday, foul play was not suspected, and the death is believed to be accidental or medically related.

The Cook County medical examiner's office performed an autopsy today, and the cause of Reyes-Leon's death is pending further toxicology analysis.

Car vs Pole Crash on Arlington Heights Rd Near Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:07 PM Wednesday to a report of a car vs pole crash with a fir at Arlington Heights Road and Palatine Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics initially received a report of a vehicle crash into a pole and then received a report of a vehicle vs pole crash with a fire.

There was no mention of a rescue, but the female victim was apparently out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived.

The crashed crossover SUV was facing southbound into a pole on the northbound parkway about 280 feet south of Palatine Road.

The female driver was transported to Northwest Community Hospital. No other people were in the vehicle and there were not other injuries

The vehicle fire and pole fire were extinguished by Engine 2's crew.

Retail Theft, Fleeing Eluding Southbound Rand Road from Victoria Secret at Deer Park

Lake County Sheriff's police responded about 10:35 AM Wednesday to a report of retail theft at Victoria Secret, 20530 N Rand Road Deer Park, IL. Police received a report that a suspect or suspects fled from Victoria Secret and eluded police after a retail theft.

No description of the suspect or suspects was initially available.

The suspect(s) fled in a black or dark gray Honda Civic with Arizona license plate in the rear and no license plate in the front. The Honda Civic also had dark or deep tinted windows.

The vehicle and suspect(s) were last seen headed southbound on Rand Road (US 12) from Hicks Road.

The crime is reported to have occurred at 10:35 a.m.

Electrical Contractor Suffers Burns at Vapor Bus International on Johnson Drive, Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:36 AM Wednesday to an activated fire alarm with a report from the scene that a person was on fire and suffering from burn injuries at Vapor Bus International, 1010 Johnson Drive Buffalo Grove, Il. While responding, firefighters were updated that the person was no longer on fire, and that employees were attempting to get the person down from a lift inside the warehouse.

Battalion Chief 4 on arrival reported a large warehouse with nothing showing, and people directing firefighter/paramedics to the patient by 7:43 a.m. The location was possibly located near the loading dock and on the west side of the building.

Fire command reported an electric contractor suffered an electricity arcing-related injury, was conscious and alert, and was being lowered down from a lift by 7:47 a.m.

Tower Ladder 25's crew was returned with Wheeling Truck 24's crew already on scene.

The patient was removed from the lift by 8:00 a.m., and transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with extra paramedics on board.

An electrical inspector from Buffalo Grove Building and Zoning was requested to respond to the scene.

Palatine Fire Department Ambulance Rollover In 3-Vehicle Crash at Palatine Rd and Rohlwing Rd Palatine

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:02 PM Thursday report of a rollover crash of an ambulance, involving two other vehicles at Palatine Road and Rohlwing Road Palatine, Il. Palatine Ambulance 83 was en route to a call at the Northwest Community Hospital Treatment Center at 500 North Hicks Road when it was involved in a rollover crash involving three total vehicles.

Two paramedics and the driver of a white minivan transported to Northwest Community Hospital -- initially believed to be minor injuries.

The crash involved a red sedan with moderate damage on the driver's side, a white minivan with heavy front-end damage, and the ambulance rolled onto its driver's side.

Man Attacked with Chainsaw After Head-on Crash in Parking Lot of Commercial Building on Golf Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:12 PM Monday to a report of a crash and chainsaw attack in a parking lot at 559 West Golf Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with injuries in a commercial building parking lot.

Police and firefighter/paramedics then received a report that a person was chasing another person with a chain saw at the scene of the crash.

Arlington Heights Fire Battalion Chief add himself to respond to the scene. A blue car and a silver car were found crashed head-on in the western part of the parking lot.

Multiple witnesses reported that a man waiting in a blue car swiped a chain saw at a silver car as it drove by in a parking lot. The driver of the silver car appeared to drive away, but the man with the blue car jumped in his car and sped around in the parking lot and crashed head-on into the silver car.

The man in the silver car jumped out of his car and started running eastbound in the parking lot. A witness said the man in the blue car opened his rear passenger driver's side door, pulled out a chainsaw and "fired it up." He then ran after the driver of the silver car.

The man from the silver car tripped and fell in the lot where a cellphone and blood was seen later at the crime scene. Witnesses said the man with the chainsaw then attacked the downed man as he tried to get up. The victim raised his arms to protect his body and head, and his arm or arms were hit by the running chainsaw. Witness said the atttacker then tried to hit the man in the leg with the chainsaw, but the chainsaw jammed.

Witnesses tried to help the victim get inside the building while the chainsaw was jammed. A witness said the attacker looked angry and frustrated when the chainsaw was jammed.

Some witnesses said the attacker ran right by them while he chased the victim inside, and re-started the chainsaw. The witnesses also said blood was spurting from the victim as he ran inside the building at 561 West Golf Road. Blood was seen on the sidewalk in front of the door to the business.

The victim was attacked again inside the commercial business space. The attacker then came back outside and took off his shirt and shoes and appeared to sit down an wait for police.

Police quickly secured the scene and took the attacker into custody. The police asked a witness the condition of the victim inside.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Witnesses also reported that the attacker was the ex-husband of the victim's girlfriend.

An official release from the Arlington Heights Police Department is expected later today or tomorrow.

Fleeing and Eluding in Maroon Buick Near Higgins Rd and Arlington Heights Rd, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police responded about 12:00 AM Saturday to an alert of fleeing an eluding in the area of Arlington Heights Road and Higgins Road Elk Grove Village, IL. Police reported that a suspected DUI driver fled and eluded police while driving a maroon Buick.

The driver was described as a male/white with curly brown hair.

The driver and the Buick were last westbound on Higgins Road.

FBI Chicago 9:32 PM Tuesday vehicle pursuit and foot pursuit of armed robbery suspects, 41.711476, -87.798254 (Harlem Avenue and I-294 Chicago, IL. FBI Chicago was in a foot pursuit with three
male/black armed robbery suspects considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects were last seen in the area of Harlem Avenue and I-294 entrance where the suspects fled from a crash.

Harlem Avenue is congested northbound and southbound in the area at 9:38 p.m. in the Chicago Ridge and Bridgeview.

Two Men Shot on Bonhill Dr, in Whispering Winds Apartment Complex, Unincorporated Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:41 PM Monday Report of two gunshot victims. 4001 Bonhill Drive Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of two gunshot victims.

A caller reported one person definitely down on the ground. The location of the offender or offenders was unknown, but believed to have fled the scene.

Cook County Sheriff's police declared the scene secure by 12:46 p.m.

One victim was located at 4012 Bonhill Drive and one victim was located at 4001 Bonhill Drive.

Fire command on the scene reported one patient was shot in the back, and one patient was shot in the foot.

A male, age 21, was seriously injured with a gunshot wound to the back, and transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by Long Grove firefigher/paramedics. A 19-year-old man was shot in the foot with a gunshot wound that was described as non-life-threatening. the 19-year-old man was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights by Palatine firefighter/paramedics.

Extra Alarm Fire

Marengo police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:51 AM Sunday to a report of a house explosion and fire at 602 4th Avenue Marengo, Il. Report of a house explosion with a neighboring home collapsed with two or three people trapped inside.

The explosion was initially reported in the 600 block of 4th Avenue with a report of two people trapped in a house.

Command requested an ambulance from Harvard and Huntley.

Fire unit 1105 on arrival reported he is on 7th Circle, took command of the incident, and raised the alarm to the second level for a MABAS BOX ALARM.

Command reported one house fully-involved and four to six houses damaged. Eventually 50 homes were discovered damaged.

Within minutes firefighters believed all residents were evacuated from their homes. Some were evacuated through windows. The residents of the home that exploded were on vacation in California.

Companies received a report of wires down at a campsite.

Dempster Street and Potter Road Des Plaines, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with injuries on westbound Dempster Street east of Potter Road.

A witness in the area reported a motorcycle down at the crash scene, and a car with front end damage.

Dempster Street was closed for an extended accident investigation between Western Avenue and Potter Road well past midnight Wednesday/Thursday.

The crash was apparently in Des Plaines jurisdiction, but Park Ridge firefighter/paramedics were initially dispatched to the crash near Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

Dempster Street was re-opened by morning rush hour.

Unlawful Use of Weapon on on Eastbound I-290 Near Central Ave, Austin Blvd Area, Chicago

Illinois State police responded about 1:07 PM Tuesday to a report of an unlawful use of weapon (41.871048, -87.764621) I-290 and Central Avenue, Chicago, IL. Police received a report that a man pointed a gun at another motorist on eastbound I-290 near Austin Boulevard or Central Avenue.

The offender was described only as a male.

The offender's vehicle was described as a gold pickup truck -- possibly an older model.

The vehicle was last seen eastbound on I-290 and exiting on Austin Avenue.

Streamwood Firefighters, Area Hazmat Techs Work to Resolve Ammonia Leak at Fresh Express on Lake Street -- 7 Transported to Hospital

Streamwood police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:34 PM Monday Report of an Activated Fire Alarm on the board at NWCDS for the Fresh Express commercial building. 1109 East Lake Street Streamwood, Il. Report of an Activated Fire Alarm on the alarm board at Northwst Central Dispatch System 9-1-1 Center for the Fresh Express commercial building in Streamwood.

KEY FACTS ...
Seven people were transported to area hospitals -- possibly as a result of, or related to -- exposure to an ammonia leak at Fresh Express -- salad packaging plant.

Fresh Express is a Division of Chiquita Brands.

Fresh Express makes packaged, ready-to-eat salad products.

More than 700 employees are employed at the location.

Fresh Express has operated at the Streamwood location since 2013.

INCIDENT DETAILS

Engine 31's crew on arrival reported nothing showing from the outside of the building.

Streamwood Battalion Chief 9 reported a possible ammonia leak and requested two additional ambulances.

Battalion Chief 9 reported they have learned that a forklift might have hit an ammonia line inside the building.

A Hazmat Level 2 was activated and a total of a six-ambulance response was activated at the scene after two additional ambulances requested about 12:38 a.m.

All on duty Division 1 hazmat techs were due to the scene.

Fire command was using a MABAS DIVISION 1 Change of Quarters on BOX #4 for the ammonia leak for ambulances.

A canteen requested.

A Mobile Ventilation Unit (MVU-1 stationed at Elk Grove Village) was requested at 1:05 a.m. Additional mobile ventilation units were requested about 6:45 a.m. as firefighters worked overnight and early morning trying to bring down ammonia levels.

Mobile Ventilation Units from MABAS Division 27 (Chicago Heights, Park Forest area), MABAS Division 8 (Rockford area), and MABAS Division 9 (Chicago Fire Department) were being requested to the scene.

Car Crash into Parked Car at Northwest Highway and Chatham Place Injures Driver, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:43 AM Saturday received a report of a crash with injuries at Northwest Highway and Chatham Place Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a woman crashed into a parked car, and was not trapped, but could not get out of the car.

The driver crashed into the rear-end of a parked car on westbound Northwest Highway, just west of Chatham Place.

The driver apparently leaned over to stabilize a can of ice tea and drifted into the parked car.

The woman was transported to Northwest Community Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
