Quick Change Scam at Restaurant on Arlington Heights Rd Near Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:51 PM Sunday of a theft at McDonald's, 1920 North Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender engaged in a Quick Change Scam while in the drive through of the restaurant. The offender distracted an employee while being given his change and convinced her she had short changed him. The offender's Quick Change Scam was successful and he unlawfully accepted approximately $120 cash in incorrect change. The offender is described as a male/black, approximately 30 years-old with a shaved head, wearing a white pullover style jacket. The male offender was last seen leaving the area in a black Toyota Camry with an Illinois license plate. The vehicle also had an Uber sticker on the back window. I-290 "Sheet of Ice" Shut Down at I-90/94: Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries Outbound I-290 at I-90/94, Chicago

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:33 AM Monday to a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on outbound I-290 at 41.875703, -87.645392 (I-290 and I-90/94 Chicago, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on outbound I-290 over I-90/94. Engine 1's crew reported their fire engine was rear-ended right above I-90/94. There were possibly two separate crashes in the area of I-290 and Halsted and I-290 and I-90/94. Engine 1 reports a total of ten vehicles involved with three ambulances needed. I-290 shut down because of crash oprations and because I-290 is a sheet of ice. Deputy District Chief 2-2-1 later reported eleven vehicles were involved and it will awhile before all vehicles are removed from the bridge and the bridge is salted. Male Offender Tased, Charged with Assault of Firefighter at Dunkin' Donuts on Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm March 30, 2019 to a possible disturbance and an aggravated assault of a firefighter at Dunkin' Donuts, 4204 North Arlington Heights Arlington Heights, IL. Additional police and firefighter/paramedics responded after a male suspect was tased by police at Dunkin's Donuts. Jonathan Robert Schaudt, age 45, of Pamela Road in Lake Zurich, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer/Fireman. A second ambulance was also dispatched to the scene for a separate medical call. Information was not available regarding whether the second person knew Schaudt, who was tased and arrested. Police received a report that a suspect took merchandise without paying at Kohl's and was detained by loss control personnel. Firefighters also responded about to a smoke investigation at Jersey Mike's at 171 North McHenry Road. Police in the area saw smoke at the building, the smoke was from workers doing roof repair. Police received a report that a recognized previous female offender concealed merchandise for sale on her person and was stopped by store employees while still in the store. The offender threatened the employee with a tazer, which she also brandished in the store. The offender then left the business with the merchandise still concealed on her person and without paying for the merchandise.
