Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:25 PM Sunday to a report of a crash on northbound Route 53 south of Rand Road that turned out to end in a yard near Wilke Road and Roanoke Drive Palatine, Il. Iinitially police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the crash was on northbound Route 53 south of Rand Road. The crash was actually a one-pickup truck crash. The pickup truck exited the northbound lanes of Route 53, crashing through a fence, crossing a frontage road, and hitting a fence in a backyard on Wilke Road. The house where the backyard was located is at the northeast corner of Wilke Road and Roanoke Drive, Palatine. There was a report of two infants or children removed from the vehicle with one or two adults still in the pickup truck ... before firefighter/paramedics arrived. Elk Grove Village police responded about 4:35 PM Saturday to assist Bellwood and Illinois State Police for a police pursuit where the suspect/driver bailed out of a U-Haul van or pickup truck near I-290/IL 53 NB and Biesterfield Rd Elk Grove Village, IL. Police received a report that a Bellwood police unit was pursuing a U-Haul van or pickup truck. Currently it is unknown if the suspect was wanted for a traffic violation or some other case. The suspect failed to stop at the beginning of the attempted traffic stop on westbound I-290 near St Charles Road. The pursuit continued westbound on I-290, but was terminated somewhere between York Road and Biesterfield Road on I-290/IL-53 at 4:22 p.m. The vehicle was sighted again and picked up for pursuit -- possibly by Illinois State Police (not confirmed). Wheeling police responded about 3:30 AM Saturday to a case involving an aggravated assault with a weapon at McHenry Road and Cedar Run Drive Wheeling, IL. Police received a report of a threat involving a threat with a firearm. The offender used a black revolver, and left the weapon at the scene. The offender is described as a male/black, about 35 years-old with dredlocks. The victim apparently knew the identity of the offender. The offender was driving a black Nissan Rogue, and left the scene in an unknown direction of travel. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the field fire possibly self-extinguished before firefighters arrived. Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:01 PM Thursday to a report of a vehicle in a lake at Versailles on the Lakes apartments, 1002 North Plum Grove Road Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a vehicle in an apartment property lake with people exiting the vehicle on their own at Versailles on the Lakes. The vehicle was not completely submerged and no people were in the car when firefighter/paramedics and divers arrived. One rescue diver was in the water by 8:11 p.m. to confirm there were no victims in the vehicle or pond. Battalion 5 held up additional divers by 8:14 p.m. as it was determined there were no people in the vehicle or the water. A second ambulance was called to the scene about 8:34 p.m. to check on the driver in an apartment near the scene after police found the driver in the apartment. Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:17 PM Wednesday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Arlington Heights Road and St James St Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a 9-year-old girl was hit while crossing Arlington Heights Road in the crosswalk at St James Street. Squad 2's crew reportedk one person down in the roadway. Battalion Chief 1 and Engine 2 were added to the call for command and scene protection. A 9-year-old girl was hit by a sedan that was traveling in a southbound lane of Arlington Heights Road. On impact with the front and hood of the sedan, the girl was thrown at least 25 feet and possibly up to 47 feet. She was conscious at the scene, and was transported to Northwest Community Hospital. There was no initial information on any citations. There is a marked crosswalk across Arlington Heights Road aligned with the sidewalk on the south side of St. James Street....
