ComEd Repairing Cable Fault Affecting Miner School at Dryden Pl and Miner St, Arlington Heights

ComEd crews were working on a cable fault in the area of Miner and Dryden Sunday afternoon and Sunday night, April 30, 2017. A neighbor report lights flashing on and off at Miner School 1101 East Miner Street in Arlington Heights. ComEd reported less than five customers were affected due to damaged power lines, and expected restoration to occur by 6:00 a.m. Crews were digging at the southwest corner of Miner Street and Dryden Place about 9:30 p.m. If the cable fault is not repaired by Monday morning, ComEd expects to establish power to Miner School using a commercial yard generator in time for school hours. Boy, Age 12, Hit By Compact Car on Westbound Hintz Rd at Sherwood Dr, Near Wheeling High School

Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:25 PM Wednesday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle with injuries at Hintz Road and Sherwood Road Wheeling, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics initially received a report that pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at Hintz Road and Elmhurst Road. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to discover a boy was hit by a compact car in the crosswalk. Westbound Hintz Road was immediately blocked off at the intersection. Male, age 12, transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The compact car was westbound on Hintz Road, driven by a 17-year-old male. A crash also occurred earlier at Hintz Road and Schoenbeck Road that involved a pedestrian/bicyclist. The crash, that occurred about 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, also knocked over a light pole. Rolling Meadows Police, Fire Honor Citizens and Staff for 2 Live-Saving Rescues in Rolling Meadows 1 Day Apart

Civilians and firefighter/paramedics and a police officer were honored for two recent medical calls in Rolling Meadows. In each case, a life was saved. Police Department Honors Geunyoung Pak for Narcan Save at Meijer Store On March 13, 2017 at about 3:40 a.m. for a call for help for a 39 year-old female that was stumbling and staggering in the Meijer store in Rolling Meadows. While Rolling Meadows police were responding, the woman collapsed in a toy aisle at the Meijer store. She had no pulse and no respiration. Rolling Meadows Police Officer Geunyoung Pak administered a Narcan injection in the woman's thigh when he believed the woman had possibly overdosed on heroin or another opiate. After the administration of Narcan, the woman gasped for air and then received further medical treatment from firefighter/paramedics that arrived at the scene. Report of Multiple Stabbing Victims at Palatine Apartment Complex

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:20 PM Sunday to a report of multiple people stabbed at an apartment complex at 1362 East Wyndham Circle Palatine, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics discovered a second stabbing victim and then a third stabbing victim. Crews on arrival reported a second victim stabbed by 10:23 p.m. -- A84 assigned. One patient was reported with a severe stab wound in the abdomen. A witness reported to paramedics that an offender was possibly seen running from the scene. Fire hydrant flushing is scheduled to start on April 24 and will run through May 5. Each year, the Village of Arlington Heights Public Works Staff operates, flushes, and maintains 3,300 public and 850 private fire hydrants. The personnel generally work in consecutive 12 hour shifts to rapidly facilitate this event with minimal inconvenience to Arlington Heights residents. Some benefits that are generated from this scheduled operation and maintenance are: Every public fire hydrant is operated and maintained. If it cannot be maintained, it is marked out of service and the emergency response agencies are notified. The hydrant is then brought back into service as soon as possible. Every private hydrant is operated and if maintenance is necessary, appropriate owners and emergency agencies are promptly notified and the hydrant is marked as out of service. Maintenance is monitored until complete. Water is measured in gallons per minute in order to document flow for the Fire Department.

Police received a report that an unknown offender contacted the victim via email. The email stated the victim's computer had been hacked and payment was due to fix the computer. The victim provided the offender with $350 in iTunes gift cards. Crystal Lake police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:03 p.m. Monday to a report of a stabbing near the Taco Bell, 420 West Virginia Street, Crystal Lake, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics initially received a report that several people were stabbed. The location of the assailant or assailants was unknown. Police and firefighter/paramedics eventually discovered that two people had been stabbed. When police arrived, they could not find any victims inside the Taco Bell or near the Taco Bell. Arlington Heights police responded about 10:00 AM Saturday to a report of shots fired at or near the Red Roof Inn, 22 West Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report sometime between 9:00 p.m. Friday and 1:00 a.m. Saturday of shots fired.
