Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:22 AM Sunday to a report of an attached garage fire in a townhouse at 2503 Yarrow Lane Rolling Meadows, Il. The first crew on arrival reported smoke showing and upgraded the response to a Code 4 Working Fire Response by 7:26 a.m. The fire was contained to the garage, and vehicles and contents inside the garage. There was no extension to the living space. The townhouse was occupied at the time of the fire with no injuries reported. Chimney Fire on East Euclid Ave Near Beverly Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:49 PM Wednesday to a report of smoke coming from a chimney after the fire was put out., 820 East Euclid Avenue Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of smoke coming from a chimney after the fire was put out. Crew on arrival reports nothing showing. E2 crew reports a fireplace at the back of the house with light smoke coming around the chimney -- no visible fire. Companies checking for extension. Firefighters got on the roof and inspected the chimney and removed some fascia. A crew inside the kitchen also pulled away an interior wall which vented smoke in the kitchen. Initially firefighters extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, but eventually soaked the fire after pulling away the wall. Police and firefighter/paramedics on scene discovered that a 47 year-old male was hit by a car and seriously injured near the intersection. A hit-and-run driver fled the scene. No offender vehicle information was initially available. The victim was working on equipment at the side of the roadway near the intersection. He was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center by Flight for Life from a helipad nearby. Hit-and-Run Driver Destroys Shopping Cart Canopy, Damages4 Vehicles at Mariano's, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 4:15 PM Friday to a hit-and-run crash, property damage-only, at Mariano's, 802 East Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a driver crashed into a shopping cart canopy at Mariano's parking lot near the south entrance. The offending vehicle with license plate information was described to police. Witness described an older male driver that hit the shopping cart canopy, which collapsed onto four vehicles parked nearby. At least one of the vehicles was so badly damaged, it needed to be towed by Hillside Towing. Three vehicles, including a blue Porsche Cayenne, were significantly damaged by the crash. Most vehicles had front-end damage, but one vehicle -- a red crossover SUV had a gouge and scratch the full length on the driver's side. Arlington Heights fire chief reported a header in the sky while responding, and the fire response was upgraded to a Working Fire Response (Code 4) by 10:45 a.m. Chief 100, first on scene, reported a working garage fire in a single-story ranch.
