Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:20 PM Friday of a theft at Aldi Foods, 550 East Golf Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders removed the victim's red purse from the front seat of her vehicle while she was loading groceries into the rear of the vehicle. The red purse contained $105.00 USC, credit cards, and the victim's drivers license. The offender(s) also used one of the victim's credit cards to unlawfully make a purchase. Mechanics at Grandt's Shell Aid Motorist Who Crashed SUV into Parked Car on Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:22 AM Wednesday to a report of crash with injuries at 406 East Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics initially received a report that a driver was trapped in an SUV that hit a parked car on Northwest Highway at Grandt's Shell. Witnesses said the driver still had his foot on the accelerator with the engine revving after his SUV crashed into a parked car. Mechanics from Grandt's Auto Repair came to the driver's aid until firefighter/paramedics arrived. The driver possibly had a medical issued before his SUV, traveling on eastbound Northwest Highway, crossed into oncoming lanes and crashed into a parked car on the opposite side of the road. Armed Robbery at 7-Eleven at Northwest Highway and Oakton St, Park Ridge

Park Ridge police responded about 6:40 AM Wednesday to an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven 976 North Northwest Highway Park Ridge, IL. Police received a report that a man robbed the 7-Eleven store at Northwest Highway and Oakton Street Wednesday morning. Detectives from the Park Ridge Police Department are investigating an armed robbery which occurred Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at approximately 6:40 a.m. Police learned that a male suspect entered the business, implied he had a gun and demanded that the employee give him money from the register. The employee provided the suspect with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect then ran from the scene southwest on Rowe Avenue toward Busse Highway. The suspect is described as a male/white, approximately 20-30 years of age, clean shaven, last seen wearing a grey stocking cap, black hoodie, gray athletic pants and black shoes. 7:51 PM Thursday . Westbound Kensington Road just east of Northwest Highway was closed this afternoon after Union Pacific Railroad reported a sinkhole on the access line to Heller Lumber. Railroad cars were delivering product to Heller Lumber when the sinkhole was discovered. A leaking and broken water main was located near or right under the railroad track that runs from the main line to Heller Lumber. Arlington Heights Public Works Department was on the scene and is expected to be working possibly through much of the night hours. Westbound Kensington Road may remain closed through part of the daylight hours Friday. On Sunday, September 11, 2016, the Village of Palatine will be hosting a memorial ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The ceremony will be held at the Palatine Firefighters Memorial at the corner of N. Brockway and W. Slade Streets in downtown Palatine. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:00 A.M. and will last approximately thirty minutes. Palatine Fire Department members and retirees will be marching to the memorial site from Fire Station 85 at 39 E. Colfax Street and will be accompanied by the Palatine Fire Department Honor Guard and the Palatine Police Department Honor Guard. McHenry police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:12 PM Saturday to a report of crash with injuries at Solon Rd and Ringwood Rd Mchenry, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a head-on crash with entrapment. The crash was reported to be well north of Ringwood. John and Claire Korkowski, of Spring Grove were pronounced dead at the scene about 10:30 p.m. The crash is being investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff's Police Accident Investigation Unit. Initial investigation shows that Korkowski's vehicle was northbound on Solon Road and was hit by another vehicle, which caused it to skid sideways off the shoulder on the northbound side of Solon Road. The Korkowski's vehicle then re-entered Solon Road and crossed over into the southbound lanes, where it was hit head-on by a second vehicle for a total of three vehicles involved in the crash. Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:23 PM Thursday to a report of a Pit Bull injured after falling in a sewer drainage hole in a backyard in the block of 200 South Forrest Avenue Arlington Heights, Il. Firefighters on arrival confirmed a dog, possibly injured, after a fall into a sewer about 10 feet down. Crew on arrival requests assistance from the animal warden. Firefighters checked for any hazardous gas levels or air quality issues in the hole where the dog was located about 10 feet underground. Firefighters began a small below-grade technical rescue operation with two firefighters lowered into a drainage hole in the backyard of a residence.
