Vehicle Crash Into Tree with Entrapment and Fire at Mohican Road and Pocahontas Trail Carol Stream

Carol Stream police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:06 PM Friday to a report of a vehicle crash into a tree at Mohican Road and Pocahontas Trail Carol Stream, Il. Battalion 28 on arrival reported a crash with entrapment and a significant fire.

Medic 16, Medic 27, Medic 20, Medic 29 en route by 7:10 p.m. Battalion Chief 28 reported the fire extinguished by 7:11 p.m. with one patient entrapped.

Extra medics (ambulances) were called to the scene for several police officers with smoke inhalation.

Three additional ambulance Medic 31, Medic 38, Medic 58 were assigned to the crash scene by 7:28 p.m.

A medical transport helicopter was requested by command at 7:30 p.m. but was canceled by 7:33 p.m. when the patient was extricated

Pickpocket Theft at Restaurant on Campbell St Near Vail Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 8:01 PM Saturday of a theft at 17 West Campbell Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender unlawfully took the victim's wallet after bumping into her at the bar. It was later determined the female offender bumped into the victim on purpose as a ruse to take the wallet off of the victim's person. The female offender is described as White, 5'2", with black hair and wearing a light colored top.

Contained in the wallet were various credit cards and identification cards, various gift cards and $100 cash. One of the victim's credit cards were later used fraudulently at a local Target store.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 8:00 PM.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle at Apartment Complex on Tonne Drive, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:55 AM Saturday of criminal damage to vehicle in the block of 2100 South Tonne Drive Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report of criminal damage to vehicle in progress by an unknown offender.

A third party witness reported that an unknown female offender was hitting a victim's vehicle with a baseball bat while it was parked legally in the apartment complex parking lot.

The offender was described as a female/black, approximately 30-35 years-old, heavyset, and wearing a patterned dress. The female was observed using the baseball bat to damage the windshield and hood of the vehicle.

The witnessed called the police but the offender fled just before police arrived on the scene. A search of the area was conducted but was unsuccessful.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted by police. The owner told police they were unsure about any suspects that would have wanted to damage their vehicle.

The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the police report.

Rollover Crash with Injuries at Central Road and Kirchoff Road Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:10 PM Wednesday to a report of a rollover crash with entrapment at Central Road and Kirchoff Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that one vehicle was on it side with the driver still inside the vehicle. Police first on the scene reported that the driver in the rolled vehicle was alert and talking.

First fire crew on arrival reported one person in a vehicle with all others ambulatory. Firefighters removed the windshield and extricated the patient through the opening by 6:25 p.m. The female driver was transported to Northwest Community Hospital by Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics.

The crash involved the Honda SUV, a white Honda Accord, and a small blue vehicle. According to the owner, the blue vehicle was just purchased.

No other people initially reported any injuries.

A witness on the scene reported the Honda SUV driver had a green light while traveling eastbound on Kirchoff Road to eastbound Central Road. The witness said the driver of the white Honda Accord disobeyed the red light while westbound on Central Road, and hit the Honda SUV on the driver's side, which caused it to roll. From the force of the crash, the white Honda Accord then careened to the right, and head westbound in the eastbound lanes of Kirchoff Road and hit the passenger side of the blue vehicle.

Fire In Commercial/Residential Building on Addison Ct Near Busse Rd, Unincorporated Arlington Heights

Mount Prospect firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:03 AM Tuesday to a report of a fire in a commercial building at 1020 East Addison Court Mount Prospect, Il. Firefighter/paramedics arrived to find smoke on the second floor. The building includes commercial and residential occupancy.

The fire was reported "in check" by 11:35 a.m. but not completely extinguished because of an electrical hazard preventing complete extinguishment of the fire.

The fire was upgraded to a working fire response at 11:12 a.m. and ComEd was requested to expedite to the scene to shut off electricity. ComEd arrived by 11:49 a.m.

Busse Road is closed in both directions between Kenneth Drive and Addison Court.

Firefighters from Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Township, and Elk Grove Village are assisting Mount Prospect either at the scene or at Mount Prospect fire stations to protect the rest of Mount Prospect.

Saturday's Retail Theft Suspect Back Again at Target Store, Arlington Heights -- Tallying Up Almost $2K Loss

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:04 PM Saturday of a theft at 1700 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown but repeat male offender concealed merchandise for sale on his person before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. The male suspect is the same male from a similar theft reported on Saturday July 27, 2019 at the Target store.

The offender is described as a male/white, with a beard and wearing a baseball cap, glasses, a gray T-shirt and jeans. The male offender was last seen leaving the area in a dark colored Honda sedan with an Illinois license plate -- the same vehicle description used after Saturday's retail theft. The total retail value of the merchandise is approximately $800. The loss reported on the July 27, 2019 retail theft was reported to be $998.

This same subject has been observed taking merchandise from the Arlington Heights Target in the past as well as from other Target stores in the area.

An inventory of the store was conducted and approximately $3,600 worth of alcohol beverages had been taken. Additionally, a cash register was damaged in the store and approximately $1000 was taken.

The cost to repair the broken window is approximately $1000 and the cost to repair the broken cash register is approximately $500 USC.

Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:31 PM Wednesday of a commercial burglary at commercial office of the Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault, 415 West Golf Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders unlawfully removed four Intel Mini PCs valued each at approximately $700 from the business.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 12:00 PM and Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 1:30 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 1105:30 (hours: minutes) or about 46 days.

Theft of Credit Cards in "Employee Only" Area at Kirkland's on Rand Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:22 PM Wednesday of a theft at Kirkland's, 15 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown female offender unlawfully removed two credit cards from the victim's purse while the victim was on shift as an employee at Kirkland's. The offender is not employed by Kirkland's.

The stolen credit cards were later used fraudulently.

Video surveillance equipment captured the offender entering an "employees only" area of the store and unlawfully entering the office where the victim's purse was stored.

The offender is described as a female/black suspect approximately 20-30 years old, 5'2", 160 LBS, with long, black, waist-length hair in a headband; wearing round sunglasses, a plaid shirt, and tight jeans with rips in them, and metallic sandals. The offender was also carrying a large, black bag.

A second female/black subject was seen via surveillance video standing guard of the "employees only" door while the first female/black offender was inside.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 10:21 PM.

Theft at Target Store at Rand Rd and Thomas St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:01 PM Saturday of a theft at Target, 1700 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown male offender concealed merchandise for sale on his person before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. The total retail value of the merchandise is approximately $998.

The offender is described as male/white with a beard, wearing a baseball cap, dark T-shirt and jeans. The male offender was last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored Honda sedan with an Illinois license plate. The male subject was observed taking merchandise from the Arlington Heights Target in the past, as well as from other Target stores in the area.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 7:00 PM.
