Atlantic City Electric Comes to the Rescue for Downed Power Line Block Emergency Room Access to Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:13 PM Friday to a report of a power line sagging over the roadway at Central Road and Dwyer Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived on the scene and discovered a power line sagging across Central Road just west of Dwyer Avenue. The sagging power forced the closure of access to the Northwest Community Hospital Emergency Room from Central Road west of the hospital. Exelon brothers of ComEd from Atlantic City Electric in Atlantic City, New Jersey responded to the scene to repair the line while the ComEd area was in storm recovery mode. Atlantic City Electric brought a crew with a brand new $350,000 truck and repaired the power line within a few minutes. Snow-Covered Traffic Signal Blamed as Possible Contributing Factor in Crash with Injuries at Arlington Heights Rd and White Oak St Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:27 PM Wednesday to a report of a crash with injuries at Arlington Heights Road and White Oak Street Arlington Heights, Il Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report a person in one of the vehicles was injured. A white Nissan Altima and a red Toyota Prius were involved in the crash. The Nissan had front-end damage and the Toyota had damage on the driver's door side in a "T-Bone" style crash. One patient was transported to Northwest Community Hospital. Snow packed traffic signals, blocking the view of red, yellow and green lights are suspected of contributing to the cause of the crash. Male Retail Theft Suspect; Call for Injuries While Hiding Jewelry in Body at Department Store in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 4:33 PM Monday to a report of a male that was injured when he tried to avoid being arrested for retail theft at Kohl's, 800 West Dundee Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police received a report that a male suspect in a retail theft case possibly attempted to steal jewelry. A witness familiar with the case of attempted retail theft told Cardinal News on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 that when police arrived Monday they discovered that the suspect possibly seriously injured himself while trying to hide jewelry in his rectum to avoid being arrested for retail theft. Police called paramedics to the scene when they learned the suspect may have injured himself. Initially police are not publicly confirming whether a suspect arrested on Monday actually inserted jewelry into his rectum. Rollover Crash into New Arlington Heights Police Station on Sigwalt St -- Injured Driver and Entrapment

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:39 PM Sunday to a report of a rollover crash with entrapment at the newly constructed Arlington Heights police station at 200 East Sigwalt Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that at least one person was trapped in a vehicle involved in a crash. Two firefighters happened to be out in front of the fire station, which is about 200 yards east of the crash scene, when the crash occurred. The vehicle was westbound on Sigwalt Street and hit the curb, rolled over, cartwheeled and hit the wall near the lobby of the police station. The vehicle punched a hole in the the stone wall of the lobby. Mud was sprayed up onto the wall of the vehicle, and the driver was trapped, while papers from inside the vehicle flew onto the roof and onto the sidewalk at the crash scene.
