Ruse Burglary Reported at House on East Waverly Pl Near Windsor Dr, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:06 PM Monday of a residential burglary in the block of 1200 East Waverly Place Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders unlawfully entered the victim's residence after the victim was distracted by an accomplice. While the victim was outside in the backyard of the property with an offender posing as a lawn maintenance specialist, another offender or multiple offenders entered through the front door of the residence and ransacked the master bedroom. The accomplice is described as a male, Hispanic in his 40s with short hair, wearing dark clothing and speaking with an accent. The offenders were last seen leaving the area in a newer model black Chevrolet Equinox with Illinois dealer license plates. Taken from the bedroom were several items of jewelry. The total value of the stolen items is pending further investigation of the crime, which is being classified as a ruse burglary.

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:46 PM Friday of a theft at Carlos Y Carlos restaurant, 27 West Campbell Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders unlawfully took the victim's wallet from a tabletop after the wallet was left behind mistakenly by the victim. The wallet was a name brand wallet, and valued at approximately $1,000. Contained in the wallet was approximately $300 cash and various credit and identification cards.
