Ultra Foods Grand Opening In Prospect Heights At Rand Rd And Olive St Is January 9, 2014

A brand new grocery store in Prospect Heights, 1241 North Rand Road, is scheduled for Grand Opening on January 9, 2014, according to Gerry Schoeder, Store Manager for Ultra Foods at the new location.

Ultra Foods is working on the finishing touches and many of the shelves are stocked at the new anchor store for the Prospect Crossing Shopping Center at Rand Road and Olive Street, just south of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights.

Prospect Crossings shopping center has become a vibrant shopping center, while the SouthPoint shopping center just to the west in Arlington Heights has many store vacancies.

The former Omni grocery store and Dominick's grocery store at Prospect Crossings has been vacant since 2004. The 87,000-square-foot space has been entirely re-vitalized with new plumbing, vents, and internal design. Inside, the store looks clearly defined with bold lettering, which at first impression, looks to be well-designed and user friendly.

The Ultra website looks like it has an easy to use shopping list built in to one of its pages.

Target Customers Hit By Major Credit Card Breach Starting On Black Friday

Payment card data was stolen from an unknown number of Target Corp. customers starting on the busy Black Friday weekend in a major breach at the U.S. retailer, and the incident is being investigated by the U.S. Secret Service.

The incident is believed to have affected all Target stores nationwide from Black Friday (November 29, 2013) through Sunday, December 15, 2013.

The breach could potentially involve millions of customer credit cards and debit cards. The type of data stolen was from the "track data" which includes customer names, car expiration date, the service code, the primary account number and other data.

Obtaining the track data, likely possible by installation of malicious software somewher in the credit card payment system, allows offenders to create counterfeit credit cards and debit cards by encoding the information onto any card with a magnetic stripe. Offenders would need to intercept PIN data for debit transactions, to create or use stolen debit cards and use them to withdraw cash from ATMs.

As of Wednesday, December 18, 2013, Target has no press release or notice on their official website or the official Target Twitter account.
