Suspect #1 was described as a male/black, age 23, 5' 6" 150 LBS, wearing a black beanie hat, black puffy jacket, baggy blue jeans displayed

Suspect #2 was described as a male/black, age 23, 6'0" 180 LBS, wearing a black beanie hat, black hooded sweatshirt, and faded blue jeans.

The suspects were last seen eastbound on foot.

The crime is reported to have occurred at 7:30 p.m.

Townhouse Fire from Car Fire on Whalom Lane Near Dracut Lane, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:02 PM Thursday to a report of a car fire in a garage at a townhouse at 632 Whalom Lane Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a condo/apartment fire.

Battalion Chief 5 reported a header in the sky as units were responding, and the response was upgraded to a working fire response, Code 4 by 4:06 p.m.

Engine 52's crew on arrival reported a car fire in the garage in a 3-unit, 2-story townhouse condo building with crews leading out with a hose line.

Battalion Chief 5 on arrival reported heavy fire from the garage with fire extending to the second floor.

Primary searches were underway with the fire knocked by 4:24 p.m.

The primary search was declared clear with a secondary search underway by 4:29 p.m.

Armed Robbery at Jared The Galleria of Jewelry on Woodfield Rd Near Woodfield, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police responded about 7:12 PM Wednesday to an "smash and grab" armed robbery at Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, 1700 Woodfield Road Schaumburg, IL. Police received a report that man with accomplices committed a robbery at the jewelry store.

The suspect was described as a male/black wearing a dark blue hooded sweater or sweatshirt. The driver of a getaway vehicle was described as a male/white with a beard.

There were three or four other passengers also in the vehicle.

The offenders took diamonds in a smash and grab type robbery.

Offenders fled in a black Jeep Cherokee.


The crime is reported to have occurred at 7:06 p.m.

Another robbery occurred at 6:45 p.m. with some descriptions of the offender similar. The first robbery was at or near the Subway restaurant at 1400 North Roselle Road.

About 20 minutes later offender took diamonds in a smash and grab type robbery at Jared Galleria of Jewelry at 1700 Woodfield Road.

The offenders were described as two male/black subjects wearing ski masks and black clothing robbed the store. One of the offenders displayed a handgun.

The offenders took cash and the entire cash register. They were last seen southbound on foot.

Pickup Truck Crashes Off Northbound Route 53, Through 2 Fences into Backyard at Wikke Rd and Roanoke Dr, Palatine

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:25 PM Sunday to a report of a crash on northbound Route 53 south of Rand Road that turned out to end in a yard near Wilke Road and Roanoke Drive Palatine, Il. Iinitially police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the crash was on northbound Route 53 south of Rand Road. The crash was actually a one-pickup truck crash. The pickup truck exited the northbound lanes of Route 53, crashing through a fence, crossing a frontage road, and hitting a fence in a backyard on Wilke Road. The house where the backyard was located is at the northeast corner of Wilke Road and Roanoke Drive, Palatine.

There was a report of two infants or children removed from the vehicle with one or two adults still in the pickup truck ... before firefighter/paramedics arrived.

ArlingtonHeights Ambulance 4's crew and Squad 2's crew were also dispatched for the same crash -- a little later after the crash was reported on Wilke Road north of Roanoke. Palatine firefighters on arrival confirmed the crash reports were reporting the same crash.

Palatine firefighter/paramedics reported they reported they were on the scene, They were in Arlington Heights' jurisdiction, and took command of the incident.

The gas tank of the pickup truck was ruptured by a street sign metal post, and was leaking gasoline. Palatine firefighters stood by with a line while A Express towing company worked to removed the truck.

Three patients were transported by Palatine and Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital. Their injuries initially appeared to be non-life-threatening.

Manhunt in Busse Woods After Motorist Bailed Out of U-Haul Van or Pickup Truck on IL-290/IL-53 Near Biesterfield Rd, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police responded about 4:35 PM Saturday to assist Bellwood and Illinois State Police for a police pursuit where the suspect/driver bailed out of a U-Haul van or pickup truck near I-290/IL 53 NB and Biesterfield Rd Elk Grove Village, IL. Police received a report that a Bellwood police unit was pursuing a U-Haul van or pickup truck.

Currently it is unknown if the suspect was wanted for a traffic violation or some other case. The suspect failed to stop at the beginning of the attempted traffic stop on westbound I-290 near St Charles Road. The pursuit continued westbound on I-290, but was terminated somewhere between York Road and Biesterfield Road on I-290/IL-53 at 4:22 p.m.

The vehicle was sighted again and picked up for pursuit -- possibly by Illinois State Police (not confirmed). On the second leg of the pursuit the suspect bailed out of the vehicle and ran into the Busse Woods Forest Preserve in the area just west of Alexian Brothers Medical Center, just north of Biesterfield Road about 4:35 p.m.

A search of the Busse Woods Forest Preserve is underway while the suspect is at large.

The suspect is described as a male/Hispanic 5'7" 150 LBS, wearing Carhartt work jeans.

Power Transformer Explosion with Small Fire at Douglas Ave and Ivy Ln, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:38 PM Friday to a report of a transformer explosion with a field fire near Douglas Avenue and Ivy Lane Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the field fire possibly self-extinguished before firefighters arrived.

Engine 4's crew on arrival requested a observer location to investigate the location of the trouble.

Firefighters were lighting up the field with lights from the fire engine by about 7:47 p.m.

Car Into Pond at Apartment; Occupants Out Before Firefighter/Medics Arrived on Plum Grove Rd, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:01 PM Thursday to a report of a vehicle in a lake at Versailles on the Lakes apartments, 1002 North Plum Grove Road Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a vehicle in an apartment property lake with people exiting the vehicle on their own at Versailles on the Lakes.

The vehicle was not completely submerged and no people were in the car when firefighter/paramedics and divers arrived.

One rescue diver was in the water by 8:11 p.m. to confirm there were no victims in the vehicle or pond.

Battalion 5 held up additional divers by 8:14 p.m. as it was determined there were no people in the vehicle or the water.

A second ambulance was called to the scene about 8:34 p.m. to check on the driver in an apartment near the scene after police found the driver in the apartment. The number of occupants of the vehicle was not immediately known.

All divers and the crashed vehicle were out of the water by 8:52 p.m. and firefighters were planning to leave the scene in a short time.

Girl, Age 9, Hit by a Car at Arlington Heights Road and St James St Arlington Heights, Near North School Park

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:17 PM Wednesday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Arlington Heights Road and St James St Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a 9-year-old girl was hit while crossing Arlington Heights Road in the crosswalk at St James Street.

Squad 2's crew reportedk one person down in the roadway.

Battalion Chief 1 and Engine 2 were added to the call for command and scene protection.

A 9-year-old girl was hit by a sedan that was traveling in a southbound lane of Arlington Heights Road. On impact with the front and hood of the sedan, the girl was thrown at least 25 feet and possibly up to 47 feet.

She was conscious at the scene, and was transported to Northwest Community Hospital.

There was no initial information on any citations.

There is a marked crosswalk across Arlington Heights Road aligned with the sidewalk on the south side of St. James Street. The crosswalk is also indicated by yellow crosswalk street signs.

Fatal 3-Alarm Apartment Fire on Marshall Rd, Bensenville

Bensenville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:17 AM Sunday to a report of an Activated Alarm at an apartment building at 361 Marshall Road Bensenville, Il Bensenville, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that an Activated Alarm immediately followed by several calls of an apartment fire.

Fire officials believe the fire may have started or broke out from an apartment unit just before 6:00 a.m. One man was found dead in the building, which consisted of 18 apartment units. All other residents escaped the apartment building. There is early speculation among residents that the fire may have been caused by a man smoking in an apartment with oxygen tank nearby.

The fires department response was immediately elevated to a General Alarm for an apartment fire.

Police were first on the scene and reported the third floor of the apartment building was fully-involved with fire.

Bensenville SQD108's crew on arrival then reported a large 3-story multi-family apartment building with a fully-involved fire on the third floor.

A MABAS Division 20 Box Alarm on Box #100 for the apartment fire was requested at 6:44 a.m.

Itasca Deputy Chief 66 was in command of staging by 6:56 a.m.

Engine 66 crew was assigned to get to Stoneham and connect their 4-inch hose by 7:10 a.m.

Elmhurst Medic 1 was assigned to stage on the north side of the fire by 7:11 a.m.

A 2-11 Alarm was requested at 7:12 am.

Fire command reported heavy fire throughout the entire north side of the building at 7:17 a.m.

There was difficulty contacting the water department with water issues at the scene.

Fire command reported a snorkel, two aerial pipes and numerous handlines were working on the fire by 7:24 a.m.

Command was confirming Red Cross was on the way at 7:24 a.m.

ComEd was on the scene by 7:31 a.m. -- disconnecting power to the building.

A warming bus was requested by 7:38 a.m. -- Pace Bus was sending two buses.

Nicor was on the scene by 7:38 p.m.

Command requested a MABAS Task Force from MABAS Division 3 to Bensenville Fire Station 107 by 7:52 a.m.

Command reported the fire jumped the firewall of the building and was at the south end of the building on the third floor by 8:03 a.m.

Command reported searches of the first floor in the north and south sectors was underway as elevated streams and multiple handlines continue to work.

A MESS Canteen requested at 8:56 a.m. Salvation Army MESS Canteen was on scene already.

A Fuel Truck was requested by 9:02 a.m.

All aerial deviceswere shut down and an aggressive interior attack was underway by 9:46 a.m. Companies were also rotating through rehab.

Multiple police agencies responded about 7:05 PM Thursday to a report of an unlawful use of weapon northbound Route 53 that began on northbound I-290 at Biesterfield and ended as an investigation of a man at Panera Bread in Deer park Town Center 20530 Rand Rd #448, Deer Park, IL. Police received a 9-1-1 call from an off-duty police officer that a male driver displayed a handgun.

The offender was driving a gray Kia Sorento with the off-duty police officer following after witness the unlawful use of a weapon.

The offender was a male/white driver that displayed a gun with his right hand. The offender was traveling about 64-68 mph.

The offender allegedly displayed a handgun again on northbound Route 53 near Euclid Avenue.

The offender continued northbound on Route 53 and the spur, then exited westbound on Lake Cook Road, and then took Rand Road to Deer Park Town Center. He parked his Kia Sorento near the Barnes & Noble and Panera Bread. At this point several police units from multiple agencies were following. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody at or near Panera Bread by 7:26 p.m.

Fire at Blommer Chocolate Factory at Kinzie St and Desplaines St, Chicago -- 2-11 Alarm Fire

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:45 PM Tuesday to a report of a fire on the roof at Blommer Chocolate Factory, 600 West Kinzie Street Chicago, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire on the roof at Blommer Chocolate Factory, with flames showing.

The fire address was reported as 400 North Jefferson Street Chicago, IL.

Battalion Chief 3 on arrival reported flames showing from the roof by 1:49 p.m.

Command Van 271 reported a fire in the cooling tower in the northwest corner of the building about 1:54 p.m.

Deputy District Chief 2-2-1 reported a fire in a 100x200 commercial construction, 4-story with two elevated master streams working on the fire.

Streets in the area were blocked in all directions by about 2:12 p.m.

Firefighters with two elevated master streams, and two handlines continued to work on the fire.

Primary search on the top floor complete; secondary search underway. Primary and secondary searches also underway on the first, second and third floor by 2:29 p.m.

The 2-11 Alarm Fire was struck out at 2:35 am. with the fire under control.

Stolen Toyota Prius Recovered After Short Chase on I-94 and Touhy Ave, Skokie -- Suspects at Large

Skokie police received a report from the Illinois State Police about 5:55 PM Monday a stolen auto in the area eastbound I-94 and Waukegan Road and ultimately recovered the stolen auto near Touhy Avenue and Le Claire Avenue Skokie, IL. Police received a report that unknown offenders were sighted in a stolen vehicle -- a silver Toyota Prius 4-door-- on eastbound I-94 from Waukegan Road.

The vehicle was reported stolen on Thursday November 9, 2017 to Skokie Police Department.

Three occupants were inside the vehicle.

The vehicle was also southbound on I-94 from Old Orchard about 6:10 p.m., but fled at a high speed from police at about Church Street. The vehicle was sighted again with Skokie police following the vehicle on eastbound I-94 south of Gross Pointe, and then westbound on Touhy Avenue about 6:15 p.m.

The suspects bailed out of the vehicle, and a foot pursuit continued eastbound in an alley, just north of Touhy Avenue and west of I-94.

The suspects were last seen on foot southbound on Le Claire Avenue from Touhy Avenue, and were at large as of about 6:17 p.m.

No description of the suspects was available.

Crash Injures Police Officer at Traffic Stop at US 12 and Wooded Ridge Road Near Brunswick Bowl, Kildeer

Multiple police agencies and Lake Zurich Fire/Rescue responded about 12:25 AM Sunday to a report of a crash with injuries at a traffic stop at US 12 and Wooded Ridge Road Kildeer, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with injuries involving a crash with vehicles connected to a traffic stop.

The crash was located near Concorde Banquets and near Brunswick Zone Deer Park Lanes bowling alleys.

Lake Zurich Battalion Chief 32 on arrival reported an officer down at about 12:30 a.m.

Two lanes of US 12 were closed during rescue operations.

Woman Injured When Train Gate Hits Her In The Head, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:09 AM Thursday to a report of a person injured when a train gate hit an adult female in the head, 45 West Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that an adult female was hit in the head by a train gate near a crossing at the Metra train station.

A witness reported seeing crime scene tape and a pool of blood near the ticket window.

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:53 AM Friday to a report of a fire in a machine at the chocolate factory, 600 West Kinzie Chicago, Il . Police, firefighters and paramedics received a report of a fire in a machine at the chocolate factory.

Battalion Chief 3 reported a fire in one of their machines in the chocolate factory with heavy smoke on the third floor.

Battalion Chief 3 reported one line was led out to the fire by 11:53 AM.

Also an aerial ladder was raised to the roof, and the building occupants self-evacuated by 11:58 AM.

The fire was declared under control by 11:58 a.m.

Truck Crash with A Utility Pole with Hazard on Meadow Dr Near Kirchoff Rd, Rolling Meadows

Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:54 AM Wednesday to a report of a semi-trailer truck crash with a utility pol, Kirchoff Road and Meadow Drive Rolling Meadows, Il Rolling Meadows, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a semi-trailer truck crash with a utility pole at the driveway into the Community Church of Rolling Road from Meadow Drive.

The wood utility pole was snapped approximately in half. The upper half of the pole was hanging by electric wires and data cables, suspended above the sidewalk.

The fire crew on arrival requested police for traffic control.

At 3:05 PM Wednesday ComEd reported that eleven customers were affected by the outage. The outage may have been larger before ComEd isolated the outage.

While backing up out of the Community Church of Rolling Meadows parking lot, the driver apparently snagged an angled metal guide wire, installed to stabilize the pole, and that put stress on the wood utility pole, causing it to snap. Firefighters and police quickly isolated the hazard as Com Ed worked to mitigate hazard, and then repair the pole and lines.
