The Arlington Heights Police Department will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Transportation's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled

committing other traffic-related offenses.

Rollover Wide Load Truck Carrying a Crane Crashes at Main Street and Route 31, Carpentersville

Carpentersville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:10 PM Wednesday to a report of a rollover truck crash at Main Street and Route 31 Carpentersville, Il. The single-vehicle rollover truck crash involved a wide load truck crash while a large crane was being transported.

The driver involved in the rollover truck crash suffered no initial apparent injuries.

Two towing & recovery companies joined efforts in a hazardous specialized recovery operation for a wide load rollover truck crash involving a Liebherr crane. Overhead electric power lines were located near the crash scene.

Pete's A Towing of East Dundee and Hillside Towing of Arlington Heights worked a joint operation in daylight and night time hours to stabilize and remove the crane and truck.

Recovery and cleanup was completed by 1:00 a.m. today.

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:12 AM Saturday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 2200 South Goebbert Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders pried the front drivers side door handle of the victim's silver Volkswagen Routan.

The victim observed the offender still inside the vehicle. The offender fled the area on foot before police arrived. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

The offender was described as a black male, 20-21 years old, with black short hair, 5'09 with a skinny build, wearing a red shirt and black pants.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, October 15, 2016 between 5:00 AM and 5:11 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:11 (hours: minutes).

Also in the block of 2200 South Geobbertt Road, unknown offender(s) broke out the rear passenger side window of the victim's Toyota Camry and removed a teddy bear, valued at $50.00, from the back seat. The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the police report. The crime is reported to have occurred between Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:30 pm and Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:15 am.

Also in the block of 2200 South Goebbert Road, unknown offender(s) broke out the front passenger side window of the victim's Hyundai Sonata and removed a black Samsung Glaxay S5 cell phone from the center console. The cell phone was valued at $800.00. The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the police report. The crime is reported to have occurred between Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00 pm. and Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.

The vehicle burglary was reported to have occurred between Friday, October 14, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. and Friday October 15, 2016 at 7:00 a.m.

Also in the block of 700 East Falcon Drive, unknown offender(s) shattered the front passengers side window of a victim's blue Chrysler 300. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle. 3 Motorcycles, 2 Vehicles Crash on Route 31 Western Bypass North of Algonquin Rd, Algonquin: 1 Dead, 3 Injured

Lake in the Hills police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:30 PM Saturday to a report of a three-motorcycle crash with two vehicles and injuries at Route 31and Algonquin Road Algonquin, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics on scene discovered that three motorcycles were traveling north on Route 31 when they crossed into oncoming southbound traffic and crash with two southbound vehicles.

Alex J. Misurelli of Crystal Lake was pronounced dead at the scene about 6:02 p.m.

The other two motorcyclists were transported to local hospitals. One was later flown by medical transport helicopter to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The driver of one of the cars was also transported to a local hospital.

Algonquin police and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the crash at the scene for at least 3 hours after the crash.

Woman Seriously Injured; Hit by Debris from Pickup Truck Trailer Crash on Route 53 North of Biesterfield, Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg

Illinois State police and Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:41 PM Friday to a report of crash with injuries at 42.006015, -88.027517 (Sb Route 53 and Biesterfield Road Schaumburg, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a black GMC pickup truck hauling a trailer lost a tire and lost the trailer to a rollover crash in the northbound lanes of Route 53.

Debris or a tire from the trailer crossed to the southbound side of Route 53, crashed through a vehicle window, and hit a 30-year-old woman in the head. The woman was transported to an unspecified hospital.

The male driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The truck and the trailer flipped on its side blocked all three lanes of northbound Route 53.

Illinois State Police were initially positioned on the northbound lanes.

Northbound and southbound lanes were blocked for investigation for most of Friday evening. Southbound lanes opened about 10:15 p.m.

Northbound lanes were open by 11:00 p.m.

Four Creepy Clown Reports in Arlington Heights: US 14 and Dunton, South Belmont, North Reuter, West Vine

The Arlington Heights Police Department is aware of "creepy clowns" incidents that have
been reported across the nation and in some Chicago suburbs. In Arlington Heights, there have been four instances of citizens reporting incidents involving clowns.

In all four reported incidents police responded, police searched the area, and no suspicious suspects were found.

The first incident occurred in the area of Northwest Highway and Dunton Avenue. A male was seen riding a bicycle wearing a clown mask. The area was searched; however the male was not located. There were no additional calls regarding this incident.

The second incident occurred in the area of Carefree Park 1231 S. Belmont; the caller
saw a suspicious person/vehicle and thought it might be related to the suspicious clown
sightings. The caller did not actually see a clown, but saw a male in a white jumpsuit
go into the wooded area near the park. The area was searched for this individual, he
was not located. There were no additional calls regarding this incident.

The third incident occurred at Westgate Park 211 North Reuter; the caller reported seeing a person wearing a clown mask exit the park.The area was searched, however, this
person, was not located. There were no additional calls regarding this incident.

The fourth incident occurred in the 1500 block of West Vine Street, the caller reported seeing a person wearing a clown mask in the neighborhood. The area was searched; however, the person was not located. There were no additional calls regarding this incident.

The Arlington Heights Police Department will continue to respond to all calls of suspicious
people and investigate them thoroughly. If you see any suspicious person or activity, please do not approach or put yourself in harm's way, call 9-1-1 immediately to have officers respond and investigate.

Arlington Heights Police Seek Help Identifying Target Store Retail Theft Suspect, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about Tuesday of retail theft at Target, 1700 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender took five boxes of Absolute Football NFL 2016 trading cards from the Target store.

Police report the offender has allegedly committed several similar offenses at this and other local Target stores. He was last observed leaving the area in a gray Nissan Maxima, unknown registration. There
is no picture of the vehicle available.

The crime is reported to have occurred October 4, 2016.
