Beach Park Man Charged with Double Homicide in Baseball Bat Beating of Wife and Stepson on Bairstow Drive

Lake County Sheriff's Deputies and Beach Park Rescue responded at 2:45 AM Sunday to a rescue call in the block of 10200 West Bairstow Avenue, Beach Park, IL. When Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they located five individuals inside the residence. Two of the individuals were deceased, a woman and her son. Both had obvious signs of significant trauma and both appeared to be victims of a homicide. The deceased have been identified as Lailani Uy Trejo, 43, and Patrick K. Cruz Uy, 14, both of the 10200 block of West Bairstow Avenue, Beach Park. A 68 year-old woman was also located inside the residence, injured, and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She has since been treated and released. Two adult male subjects were located inside the residence. One was determined to be a witness and the other was determined to be a person of interest. Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:53 PM Monday to a report of an unresponsive person at a house at Thomas Street and Belmont Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a person renting a room in a house was unresponsive behind a closed door. The renter's car had been in the driveway of the home, but the renter had not been seen for three days. Firefighter/paramedics did not transport a patient from the home, and police have been at the house securing the scene and/or investigating for at least two hours. Four Injured at Apartment Fire at 21 Kristin Place on Kristin Drive Near Roselle Rd, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:52 PM Sunday to and activated fire alarm that was discovered to be an actual fire at 21 Kristin Place, 21 Kristin Drive Schaumburg, IL. Upon arrival, police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that there was smoke on the fourth floor. Firefighters on arrival by 4:55 p.m. reported no smoke showing from outside the building, but reported partial evacuation of residents from the high-rise apartment building. Firefighters from Schaumburg Engine 54 reported water flowing down the stairs and smoke on the fourth floor. They discovered an injured person and then reported they found a total of four people injured. Lake County Sheriff's Deputies responded about 2:45 AM Sunday to assist Beach Park Rescue with a medical call in the block of 10200 West Bairstow Avenue Beach Park, IL. When Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they located five individuals inside the residence. Two of the individuals were deceased -- a woman and her son. McHenry Township Fire and Rescue and McHenry County Sheriff's Office responded 2:11 PM Friday to a fatal single-vehicle rollover crash near 42.311535, -88.213628 (1308 South Lily Lake Rd McHenry, Il). Three teenagers died in a single-car rollover crash and resulting vehicle fire on Lily Lake Road on Friday afternoon. Four Injured in Crash at Sutton Rd (Route 59) and Tall Grass Ct Near Golf Rd, Streamwood

Streamwood police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a 4:07 PM Sunday crash with multiple injuries at Sutton Rd and Tall Grass Court Streamwood, Il. Police received a report that a private ambulance crashed with a small SUV at the intersection, and were updated that people were trapped in the SUV. At least one person suffered life threatening injuries. Streamwood crews on arrival reported a possible extended extrication operation. At 4:21 p.m. fire command reported three patients were being extricated while a fourth patient was being evaluated in an ambulance. A total of five ambulances responded to the scene to transport four patients. One extra ambulance was needed for extra crew members for Advanced Life Support during transport. Thousands of People without Power in Arlington Heights, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadow -- Mostly Communities North of I-55

Heavy snow on tree branches continued to cause problems in the northwest suburbs. Thousands of ComEd customers are experiencing power outage across Chicagoland. Most of the power outages are north of I-55. Palatine police and firefighters responded to a tree branch down on a power line at 35 South Bothwell. The power line was down across the street, and ComEd was called to the scene. About 10:45 a.m. Rolling Meadows firefighters responded to the area of Sigwalt Street and Rohlwing Road for downed power lines. About 11:00 a.m. Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics were called for an elevator rescue at the parking garage at 22 South Vail Avenue. The elevator was stalled because of a power failure. Palm Beach Armed Robbery Suspect Mark Silverston Arrested by Arlington Heights Police; Identified from Published Security Image

Arlington Heights Police Department has charged Mark E. Silverston, age 24 of Arlington Heights, with one count of aggravated robbery as a suspect in the October 17, 2015 armed robbery of the Palm Beach Tanning Salon on Palatine Road. Arlington Heights police report that Silverston, 5'8" 135 LBS, was identified by someone police described as a "Good Samaritan" who saw security camera images posted on the Arlington Heights Police Department's official Twitter account. According to police, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the tanning salon at 1:35 p.m. Saturday October 17, 2015 and approached the front counter. After the clerk greeted the man, he lifted his sweatshirt to display a black handgun in his waistband. The offender placed his left hand on the gun and said, "Give me all of your money." Rolling Meadows and Palatine firefighter/paramedics and the Illinois State Police responded about 8:26 AM Thursday to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries at 42.084373, -88.031307 (Route 53 and Euclid Avenue Rolling Meadows, IL). Jewel-Osco TCF Bank Arlington Heights Robbery Suspect Arrested Tuesday -- 8 Days After In-Store Bank Was Robbed

John P. Stoessel, age 37, of the 300 block of West Tanglewood Drive in Arlington Heights has been charged in connection with a bank robbery that happened on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Jewel-Osco, 440 East Rand Road. Stossel was arrested without incident on Tuesday, after he had been charged in a criminal complaint filed last week with one count of bank robbery, according to the FBI. The FBI complaint states that Stoessel entered the TCF Bank branch, 440 E. Rand Road on Nov. 9 at about 10 a.m. He allegedly approached the teller and "made a threatening demand for money," officials said. The offender indicated he was armed but did not display a weapon. If convicted, the Arlington Heights resident faces up to 20 years in federal prison, officials said. Investigators were tipped off to Stoessel after descriptions of the robber were noted in media reports, FBI officials said.
